Timed-entry tickets for the dome climb are the most practical option: you book a slot and skip the ticket desk queue. Guided tours usually combine Prague Castle with Hradčany and the Lesser Town and explain its thousand-year history.

It is quietest right after morning opening and in the final hour before closing. There is no lift all the way up, so leave large backpacks at the hotel.

No dress code applies, but the interior closes to visitors during services. In strong wind the outer viewing gallery can be closed temporarily.

Check whether the price covers only the dome climb or also a guided tour of the interior. A combo with a city tour often beats two separate bookings.
